All three seasons of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon are streaming on AMC+ in the US. Seasons 1 and 2 are also on Netflix, while season 3 is currently an AMC+ exclusive. The fourth and final season premieres in February 2027, which makes this fall the natural catch-up window.
The quick answer by season
Season 1 (2023, the France chapters): AMC+, Netflix, Philo and Sling TV. Season 2, subtitled The Book of Carol (2024): AMC+, Netflix (added October 21, 2025), Philo and Sling TV. Season 3 (2025, the Spain chapters): AMC+ only for now, with a Netflix date unannounced. If you have a cable login, all three seasons also stream on AMC’s website and air in reruns on the AMC channel.
Want to sample before subscribing? The first episode, “L’ame Perdue,” streams free on Roku and on Prime Video without an AMC+ subscription, according to People’s franchise streaming guide. Individual episodes and full seasons are also sold on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango if you prefer to own them.
What changes in 2027
The streaming picture gets simpler soon. Netflix and AMC announced in July 2026 that the two will co-exclusively stream the entire Walking Dead franchise beginning in 2027, a five-year deal covering all seven series and 371 total episodes. In practice that means the full Daryl Dixon run, including season 3 and eventually season 4, should sit on both services rather than being split between them. Exact 2027 dates for individual seasons have not been published, so treat AMC+ as the guaranteed home until Netflix listings update.
Why everyone is catching up right now
AMC used New York Comic Con to confirm that season 4, already filmed, will close the series in February 2027 under the banner “one last journey, one last fight.” Norman Reedus told press the ending gets “way sadder,” and the new trailer reaches back to the start of Daryl and Carol’s partnership. We covered the announcement, the panel’s three-final-scenes story and the teaser in our Daryl Dixon final season report. The short version: this is a planned ending, not a cancellation, and season 3’s Spain storyline feeds directly into it.
Do you need to watch The Walking Dead first?
Not strictly. Daryl Dixon works as a standalone survival journey: Daryl washes ashore in post-apocalyptic France with no explanation, meets Carol again in season 2, and pushes through Spain in season 3 trying to get home. Longtime fans get more out of it, since both leads carry 11 seasons of flagship history, and every season of the original series arrives on AMC+ January 7 for the first time if you want the full run-up. But if the goal is simply being ready for the finale, seasons 1 through 3 of the spin-off are the essential prep and nothing else is required.
The catch-up math
Three seasons at six to eight episodes each is a weekend-friendly commitment, roughly 18 to 20 hours total. February 2027 is months away, but AMC+ is also where the final season will land first, so a subscription started now carries straight through to the ending. Netflix viewers should note the one-season lag: season 2 only reached Netflix a month after season 3 finished airing on AMC, so waiting for season 4 on Netflix likely means a 2028 arrival.
Watching from outside the US
Availability shifts by country. In the UK and Canada, the series streams on AMC+ where that service operates, and regional carriers vary elsewhere, so the reliable move is to search the title in your local Netflix or Prime Video app and check JustWatch for your country. The 2027 co-exclusive deal is US-focused in current reporting; international windows for season 4 have not been detailed.
Updated: October 23, 2026, 8:05 PM ET. Availability reflects US streaming listings confirmed by People, What’s on Netflix and AMC as of this date. We will update when Netflix announces season 3 and when AMC sets an exact season 4 premiere date.
