Comedian and YouTuber Grace Helbig says she has two brain tumors and will have surgery on Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to People, USA Today and E! News. She shared the news in a video online on Monday, Oct. 12, and said she feels “very positive and optimistic.”
What she said
Helbig, 41, said she went to the emergency room after numbness in her leg and doctors found the tumors. “These are operable brain tumors,” she said, “and there was a moment in time where it wasn’t certain. Quite scary.” She said she might need radiation afterward but added that the next steps are not yet known: “You can only kind of plan one day at a time.”
E! News notes that four days earlier she had canceled the Canada stops of her “Let Me Get This Off My Chest” tour because of numbness in her legs.
Tour and podcast changes

Helbig said the 2026 dates of her “This Might Get Weird” tour with co-host Mamrie Hart will be rescheduled for 2027, and the podcast is taking a week off. She said she would keep followers updated on how the surgery goes.
Her earlier diagnosis

The news comes three years after Helbig announced a breast cancer diagnosis in 2023. People reports she went through chemotherapy, a lumpectomy, radiation and hormone therapy before entering remission. She later turned the experience into a one-woman live show. In a 2025 interview with People, she said it “felt like so much more work to keep it offline than to just tell people what was going on.”
The outlets differ on which social app carried the video, so we are describing it only as a video she posted online. We will update this story when she or her team share more.
