Lindsay Lohan is back in the Toronto area filming “Return to You,” and her time off has included a visit to the Toronto Zoo. The actress shared photos from the outing over the weekend while working on the Netflix romantic comedy with Henry Golding, according to Toronto Life and blogTO.
Lindsay Lohan’s Toronto filming break
Lohan visited the zoo with her family, posting pictures of the walkways and enclosures with autumn-themed emojis. The zoo replied, “Wonderful having you and your family with us,” Toronto Life reports.
Fans offered suggestions for other places to visit, including High Park and Trinity Bellwoods Park. Some hoped she had met Maple, the zoo’s infant pygmy hippo, but the report does not establish that she did.
According to blogTO, Lohan responded to one fan: “I would have said hi! We love Toronto Zoo! It’s so beautiful!” Toronto Life also reports that she shared preparations for Canadian Thanksgiving, including lasagna and sides.
What is Return to You about?
The Netflix film pairs Lohan with Henry Golding and reunites her with director Mark Waters, who worked with her on “Freaky Friday” and “Mean Girls,” blogTO reports.
Set in 2008, the story follows a lonely lawyer who receives an emotional DVD from a dying woman, intended for the woman’s husband. Using clues on the disc, she tries to find him. Lohan plays the attorney and was spotted filming around the Greater Toronto Area last week, according to blogTO.
Is there a Netflix release date?
Not an exact one. blogTO says “Return to You” is expected in 2027, but Netflix has not announced its precise premiere date. It is still a film in production, not a release viewers can stream now.
Toronto is familiar territory for Lohan. blogTO notes that much of “Mean Girls” was filmed in the city, including scenes at local schools, the University of Toronto’s Convocation Hall and Sherway Gardens.
