Brian Austin Green has an answer for fans wondering why he is not in the audience at Dancing with the Stars. The actor says it comes down to the kids. His fiancĂ©e, Sharna Burgess, is back in the ballroom this season, and Green told Us Weekly that production has “cracked down a little bit on young kids being there,” Us Weekly and E! News report.
Why Brian Austin Green is missing from the DWTS audience
“I was there a lot in the beginning,” Green, 53, said in the interview, which he gave while promoting his appearance on Fox’s Celebrity Name That Tune. He said it is “a little harder” to attend while caring for his and Burgess’ 4-year-old son, Zane. “I can’t be there with Zane and the kids,” he said. “So we have found a time when it works where they can be home with someone and I can go.”
E! News notes that Green also has Noah, Bodhi and Journey with ex Megan Fox, and a son, Kassius, with Vanessa Marcil. Cosmopolitan and Page Six also covered his comments.
Sharna Burgess is back on Dancing with the Stars
Burgess returned as a pro this season for the first time in five years, according to Cosmopolitan. She is paired with Tyler Cameron. She last competed on the show in 2021 with Green, and the couple welcomed Zane the following year. They have been engaged since 2024, per E! News.
Green said the new schedule has taken some adjusting. “The Dancing With the Stars schedule is a pretty packed one,” he told Us Weekly, adding that it is “going to be really busy for the next month and a half if she makes it all the way to the end.” He said he is always cheering her on, whether he is in the audience or watching at home. “I’m always rooting for her. So, we figure out from episode to episode what works.”
Us Weekly also reports that Burgess is set to join the DWTS tour for part of its run. Our Dancing with the Stars tour 2027 guide has the dates, cities and cast, including Burgess’ select dates.
