Catherine, Princess of Wales, and her 11-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, rode London’s Elizabeth Line on Saturday, Oct. 10, in a rare public-transit outing, Hello! magazine, People and Page Six report. Hello! says the pair were spotted by a fellow commuter and that a video of the ride has circulated since.
What an eyewitness saw
The account comes from a source who spoke to Hello! and has not been independently confirmed by this site. The source said the two “spoke to members of the public sitting across from them” and that Catherine held Charlotte’s hand as they got off at Tottenham Court Road, near Oxford Street and Soho. “They had security with them,” the source said, adding that the security “didn’t make it obvious they were there.” Charlotte reportedly looked “amazed” as she took in the carriage, while Catherine looked at her phone for a couple of minutes, according to the same source.
Hello! describes Catherine in a burgundy outfit with matching heels. Page Six describes a maroon outfit and notes that Charlotte wore navy tights and ballet flats. It is not known where they were headed. Page Six says Kensington Palace did not immediately respond to its request for comment.
A royal link to the line
Hello! points out that the Elizabeth Line is London’s newest tube line and was opened during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year. Page Six notes Catherine was last seen riding the tube in 2023 with Prince William.
