ABC will air a new episode of “High Potential” right after Super Bowl LXI on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2027, according to Variety, the Hollywood Reporter and TVLine. The network revealed the plan in a short promo with star Kaitlin Olson during its “Monday Night Football” broadcast on Oct. 12.
What ABC announced
Variety says the episode will air immediately after the game on ABC and Disney+. The Hollywood Reporter says it will not be the season three premiere, and ABC has not yet announced a premiere date for the new season. Variety says season three is set to return early next year on Tuesday nights, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.

In the promo, Olson’s character, Morgan, finds a hidden message about the post-Super Bowl slot and asks, “What does this mean for me, swag-wise?” TVLine describes the promo as the first official look at season three.
Why the slot matters
The Hollywood Reporter says ABC has Super Bowl rights for the first time since 2006. The game will also stream on Disney+ and air on ESPN. The post-game slot is one of the biggest lead-ins in television. The last scripted show to air after the game was the series premiere of CBS’s “Tracker” in 2024, which drew 18.44 million viewers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“High Potential” was already ABC’s most watched show. Variety and the Hollywood Reporter both report that season two averaged about 16 million viewers across platforms over 35 days. Variety adds that it ended the 2025-26 broadcast season as the No. 1 show among adults 18 to 49, with a 3.35 rating.

What else Disney has planned
Variety notes that Hulu also plans to launch the new Dan Fogelman-produced football drama “The Land” on Super Bowl Sunday.
About the show
Olson stars as Morgan, a woman with an exceptional mind who becomes a consultant to the LAPD. The cast includes Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb and Judy Reyes. It is based on the French series “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel” and was created in the U.S. by Drew Goddard.
